January 25, 2000
First off, shoutouts to all for the supporters and stuff... A website's nothing without its visitors, just like a Fox ain't nothing without her fans...Read on yo, this is THE most amazing news I've received on the Ill Na Na! Unless you've already heard, you'll be very surprised to hear that the Mohagany Mamee may be getting HER OWN TV SHOW late next year! Supposedly Networks are fighting for rights to it! Here's the article from AKA.com, Hip Hop's most popular newswire. This was reported earlier today.
- According to Flo Anthony, of BRE Magazine, Foxy Brown is not only hot and chocolate, she's multi-faceted. She's already consistently blazed the record charts, then she went on to light up the runways and billboards of Calvin Klein, (which was historic for an African-American woman).
Now, she's preparing to star in her own television show. She says the show will air in the 2001-2002 season. Foxy describes the show as a "dramedy," a combination of a comedy and a drama; i.e. "Ally McBeal." Believe it or not, all the networks are after Foxy to air her brainchild.
Congratulations, Foxy!!! But make sure you call up Kweisi and the NAACP and give them their props, cause you know if they hadn't added some heat, you may have had to settle with the wax. -Alycia C.

Uh huh, uh... I know you're lovin' this massive update. Check it out, I just discovered that the site can look really good if you adjust your monitor's settings. That way you get the full effect of all the colors and stuff. Do it now, brightness and contrast. It's like tuning your TV. Remember, 800 by 600 resolution.
- Some old news, but according to the January Source Magazine (Jay-Z on the cover), the Media Watch column on page 76 mentions that Foxy's Calvin Klein career is noted in W, a women's fashion magazine. Strange thing about this is, they misidentified her as Mary J. Blidge. Don't ask. Foxy had a photo shoot for W a few months ago and made great friends with some big names in the fashion industry.

Sup Ill-Na Nites. How y'all doin? Chillin here. No, I have nothing against Jay-Z, in fact I think he's already platinum, and no I don't look much like my caricature. Anyways, I'm considering removing the messageboard in a few days...or weeks. Why? Well, while it's been useful for News and Discussions, I think it's being abused, and for all the wrong reasons. The board really counters the class and style I'm trying to have with the rest of the site, so we'll see how it goes.
- In the news, Ivory Chest's Rap News has some pretty rare previews and tracklistings. I didn't see Fox, but Nature's forthcoming album is there. It's being produced by Nas of Ill Will Records as well as Trackmasters. Foxy has a guest appearance on a song called "Jungle Music", so look for that next Spring. The Album is tentatively titled "For All Seasons". Thanks to Foxy's #1 Fan for the source.
- Our girl is in another magazine y'all! The Brown Fox is a fashion patrol judge in the new US mag. One of her comments was "Back that thang up" to a Vanessa Williams rearview image.
- Speaking of magazines, look for the new Right On. They discussed MTV's Lyricist Lounge and published Foxy's picture. She's noted for being discovered among other artists, including the Notorious B.I.G. Props to Amado for all that info.

More layout changes. Yo, I've got nearly 54 hundred hits since October, but only 18 measly votes. Come on y'all, you can do better than that. I also encourage you to sign up for Alladvantage, they'll pay you. Click the link on my Home page.
- Guess what? Looks like Foxy Brown's partner in rhyme, Jay-Z, is in hot water yet again! Details are sketchy, but some band or group is suing him for not clearing the sample on "Do It Again" featuring Amil and Beanie Siegel. If you ask me, that's just Karma for putting Amil on the record instead of our Mahangany Mami. Hope Jay doesn't lose too much money.

I leave for two days and the Board's already in chaos. It's all good though. Anyways I changed the layout again... I think it looks better like this. A lot of y'all been mailing me with general feedback and news, so thanks. I'm getting ready to get back into my full time student mentality, so updates may not be as frequent as usual, but we'll see. Oh yeah, and I'm looking for ideas as to what to draw.
- Foxy's chillin in the new Rolling Stone Magazine with Mellissa Etheridge on the Cover.. This issue may not even be on Newstands yet, it's dated Feb. 3, 2000. Check the Random Notes Section on page 20, you'll find her at a dinner table with Kimora Lee, Russell Simmons, and supermodel Naomi Campbell. It reads: "Sitting at Russell's table, Foxy Brown quipped, "All you gotta do is get a wife to slow
your ass down. Isn't that right, Russell?" Foxy was bein' her sassy self, talking about Puff Daddy the Russell Simmons wannabe. Puff said he's got a clothing line, record company, magazine and more, and made statements about having his own TV show too. So that's how Foxy responded.
- Foxy is nominated in a list of "Most Styled Women" in the new issue of Hair Magazine. No surprise there. You gotta vote by mailing in the page full of checkboxes.
- In the new 101 Black Hairstyles, Eve bad-talks our girl. Check page 26 where she says "Foxy shouldn't have changed her style. I don't have to be half-naked to get
somebody's attention. I represent for real females." Eve, don't make me put you in my Haterade (LOL!)
- There's a rumored Bonnie & Clyde Album in the works by Fox and Jay-Z. Start prayin'. Since Foxy wasn't on Jay's most recent album they haven't seemed as close. But you may just be surprised.

What's up. I'll bet you're surprised by my new Comix section. I told you it'd knock your socks off! Expect the comics to be even funnier in the future. (McDawgald's?!) Look for that every Friday. Also, Mixtapes are cheap now, so you can get more for your money. Why? Because I'm nice like that. I'm gone for the weekend again. Have a good one. Newstime!
- It turns out that Foxy Brown is letting Bad Boy's Shyne keep the song "Westcoast Bitch" for his first album off of Bad Boy Entertainment. I personally find this very absurd seeing how Shyne merely raps the hook while Foxy does that Brooklyn Flow through every verse. I still have no idea why the song has that title. It can be downloaded in my Jamz Section. If you didn't know, Shyne helped Foxy write "My Life" on Chyna Doll. He is credited as J. Barrow, his first name being Jamal. I guess Foxy is returning the favor with this gesture of giving him her song. Don't be surprised if they are friends; Like Foxy, he is often accused of trying to sound like someone.
Shyne just had a brush with the American law. As we speak, he is still challenging the judicial system for assault and weapons charges, following a recent shooting at club New York. It is rumoured that it all started when some guy threw money in Puff Daddy's face, saying "You're not the only one in here with money." All the gory details are available by clicking here. They parodied the incident on NBC's Saturday Night Live last weekend, it was crazy. Don't expect Shyne's album soon.
- In other news, turns out that the Request Magazine cover is not new, it's old, from 1998. Still don't know what it's about.
- Speaking of magazines, apparently not all media respects the Brown Fox. Foxy's negative press is in a new issue of Da Rude, where they talk about her "not looking up to par." Just wanna apologize for doubting the Anonymous person who reported this on the messageboard. I'm too used to people talkin' jive in there, so I was skeptic. My bad. Details on this are available by clicking here.

What's up Ill Na-Nites! Ai'ght. If I said anything negative that had to do with the fact that Foxy sites are popping up faster than microwave corn kernels, forgive me. When I first started I had no idea that Ms. Marchand had such an incredible Internet fan base. So it's all good, ya smell me? Now the News.

Guess who is on YET ANOTHER magazine cover!! I found this picture floating on the 'net and I don't remember if it's old or new. But here she is with Method Man and Redman on the front page of Request Magazine. And she signed the copy! Niceness.

Over on the right is a picture of our girl talkin' to Trinidad police. From Trinidad Express: HIP HOP artiste Foxy Brown, speaks with acting Superintendent Addisson, left, and Inspector Trevor St Louis
after she was stopped during her performance for using obscene language at the Colours XII concert at the Queen's Park Savannah on Saturday night.Read the full story in my Articles section. If the version I told is a slightly different one, that's because I was going based on memory and hear-say.
Guess who's back in the media. Foxy was on another TV show (she doesn't stop, does she?) kind of like the last one. It was National Enquirer. They showed her on the runway again. Do your thang, girl. Thanks to Nino for that news.
Coming soon will be a new section to this site that you won't find anywhere else on the web, I guarantee it. It will surprise and amaze you in ways you can't imagine, and there's no way you'll ever be prepared. I won't say when, but brace yourself.
I won my first award, Jessica's Foxy Brown Page Site of the Month! Who's the man! Thanks Jessica. I'll find some place to put my trophy later.
January 7, 2000
I finally e-mailed Foxy Brown yesterday. Maybe she'll check
it and visit the site. I'll be gone for the week-end, so hold it down til'
I get back. And now, today's News.
-
JR and Jessica deserves props for tellin us that Christina
Aguilera, that Genie In A Bottle, has a thing for Fox Boogie. These
were her exact words to Box Office Hits: "Yeah, Foxy Brown is really
cool. I like her because she's not afraid to get up there and show off,
not caring what anyone thinks. I'm definitely a fan!"
-
Big-ups to Marcus for letting us know of yet another Foxy
Brown TV appearance, on "Enquirer TV." They were talking about temper tantrums
celebrities have. Apparently, Foxy throws tantrums for Photo Shoots and
over designer clothes and towels by Chanel, Prada and Versace.
They showed a clip of her struttin' down the runway modelling and she was
looking super fine, sexy with class.
-
Charlie's Angel starts filming this month, so maybe we'll catch
the Ill Na Na on Access Hollywood or Entertainment Tonight, who knows.
I don't know if it's a major role or just a cameo. We'll see. Thanks to
Nino for that news.
-
Foxy just finished another song for her third album, featuring Spragga
Benz. Another hot Dancehall Hit. Hope it's as good as Na Na Be Like.
This was also announced on Later last week. Thanks Keith.

- Last time I checked, Foxy Brown was to be featured on Shyne's debut album entitled "The Truth," which was set for a January 25 release date. Now that January has come so quick, and Shyne is due in court on three charges of attempted murder, I don't think we'll be getting an album from him anytime soon.
- In VERY old news the Trinidad Express Newspaper reported that Foxy Brown's concert was cut short last summer. This may have been one of the reasons Foxy decided to change her image. According to the front-page article, they cut her off after her performance of "Hot Spot" because they found her language and gestures too obscene. They were tolerant at first, but when Foxy proceeded to divide the crowd in two to see who could scream "Fuck That" the loudest, security intervened. (In Trinidad, cursing in public is a federal offense). They later showed they meant business because shortly after DMX's turn to perform in the same concert, officers ended up literally dragging him off the stage and locking him up in a prison cell for the entire weekend!! DMX had to pay a measly $25.00 US fine, which is worth about $112.00 TT dollars.
Anyways Foxy was backstage talking to the cops and meanwhile the audience was screaming "Foxy! Foxy! Foxy!" to get her to come back. Then the crowd started pelting beer bottles on the stage, and police fired gunshots in the air. It got pretty ugly. Foxy told security she'd clean up her act, and so they let her come back on stage to sing an edited version of Big Bad Mama. Nas, Beanie Man and Mr. Vegas (I think) also performed that night. How do I know all this? My relatives told me about the whole concert (I'm from the land of the Hummingbird). If you don't beleive me, too bad. For a while I even had the actual article from the Trinidad Express Online, accompanied by a photo of Foxy talking to Trinidadian police, but I guess I lost it.
- In other news, about a year ago in February 1999 MTV spent an entire day with Foxy Brown and accompanied her to a recording studio to do a collaboration with The Backstreet Boys. The song they did together is called "Treat Me Right" and rumoured to be on Foxy's third album. Iif the song's a single I'm sure it will blow up to multi-plat status for all the teeny bopper BS boy fans out there. Foxy's fame and fortune will soon grow just as large.
- For anyone who wants details on Foxy's Trace Magazine cover story, I have no clue. tracemag.com hasn't been updated since March '99, so you can't get the cover photo there, but you can get the gyst of what the average issue looks like. It's not another women's fashion magazine, this time it's an underground Urban-Music type of thing, even though the article is about Calvin Klein.
- According to Princess @ The Shanté Realm, a collaboration between Fox Boogie Brown and the legendary Roxanne Shanté may just be about to happen. Shanté is rumored to be working on a comeback album for this year. If you haven't noticed, Shanté has been doin' her thang every now and then. In '97 she had a song with Frankie Cutlass and Bizmarkie, she's been in Several Sprite Campaign Ads and she is supposedly in Will Smith's new video with Slick Rick and the Biz. Roxanne Shanté is Foxy's number one role model next to Salt n' Pepa.
- DMX confirmed the end to his beef with Kurupt on 95.5 FM. He also mentionned that he might do a song with Foxy for her third album.
January 5, 2000
Well I'm back people! I actually didn't go anywhere, but my computer crashed (Y2K?) so I'm updating from another system. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and/or a Happy Kwanzaa or whatever other religious or cultural holiday you happen to celebrate. I've "edited" the Haterade and tried to clean up the messageboard. I guess you guys need me up in here to regulate things. I've also resolved, by popular demand, not to diss Lil' Kim anymore for the new year. We'll see how long I last. Now to the news, Big T'ings A G'wan!
- Foxy's made the cover of yet another magazine! This one's called Trace. It's mostly about how she's the first Black woman to model for Calvin Klein. Gotta get a hold of those pics, I hear she looks hot in this one. Props to Skye for that news.
- A few days ago, Jay-Z was on SOHH's hip hop chat. He said that Foxy wasn't on his new album because she was really busy and getting ready to give Nino Brown his time to shine.
- Foxy's new album might not actually be called "War On My Soul" but is currently untitled.
- the April 18 release date is not official. Foxy recently announced that only four songs have been completed for her third album, so we don't know when it will officially hit stores. Hopefully, some time this year.
- On December 25, Fox Boogie was on an east coast radio station, 95.5, discussing various issues. In the interview, Foxy mentionned that she never deliberately went out and try to change her voice, and explained that if she forced herself to reuse the style Def Jam Executives encouraged her to (on Ill Na Na) for her third album, a lot of people would be disappointed.
Foxy also said that since the Essence article, a lot of people have seen her side of things, recounting recent times where people have come up to her to apologize for misjudgement.
Foxy expressed her views about Lil Kim by saying that the two of them could never truly be friends. "One thing I was taught in childhood is that once they dogg you out they'll do it again." she said.
Foxy confirmed that she was in Paris modelling earlier on and also announced that Ja Rule is now the second Black model for Calvin Klein. Finally, she confirmed that she and DMX are just label-mates and good friends. That week, Foxy was out with her family doing some Christmas shopping, but said that when she gets the chance, she'll check out her fan's websites. Mad shout-outs to LOLA and JR for that sizzlin' news.
- Big-Ups to Keith for letting us know that Foxy Brown was on Later, an NBC show that comes on after Conan O'Brien. She had a half hour interview and solo (no dancers) performance of Hot Spot last week Tuesday.
The host of the show read Brandy's highly opinionated comments from Foxy's Essence cover story. Brandy said some bull about how Foxy's disrespecting women with her sassy attitude & by calling herself a bitch, to which Foxy argued that Brandy was wrong for making a statement like that, and that she shouldn't judge people by the way they make their money. "You don't see me talking about her popcorn school-girl image," she continued, "So she shouldn't talk about mine."
Foxy told an anecdote of having hung up on Michael Jackson after telling him off, assuming it was a prank call. Now she's trying to get him to clear the sample for "Maria," a song on her third LP.
- Weird, Twisted, Crazy Fake-Ass Rumor of the Month:
DJ Kilo of 92.3's "The Beat" as well as another rap radio segment on 94.7 reported that rapper Shyne of Bad Boy Entertainment held a party at the Manhattan Hotel, soon after his release from temporary detainment on December 30. Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim were in attendance, and apparently they had a close encounter of the brutal kind. Lil' Kim allegedly threw the first shove, before Ms. Brown threw the wig-wearing woman into the venue's rear wall. When the Brown Fox sent the Queen Bee's brown hairpeice propelling through the room, an angered and obviously embarassed Lil' Kim said, "Bitch, you touch me again and I'll kill your ass." The Ill Na Na then opted to be ready for action. Having removed her high heels, she headed to her Benz for some sneakers. When she returned, police and security guards were on the scene. One constable, Officer Johnson, described the incident as "childish" and dismissed it as an everyday occurence.
Thanks to Lakita for this crazy info, to which (I know, I know) there's room for PLENTY of doubt. Seems almost as fake as the "tale of the broke-drunken-Foxy" but hey, it's still worth the mention.
