I have never gone this long without an update, an entire month. Let's just say I wanted my holiday festivities to last a little longer than they possibly could. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. I know, but better late than never. I finally got a DSL connection and I've been busy enjoying that online, not to mention a whole lot of other things out there in the real world too. But I'm back, that's all that matters. At least the messageboard remained active and was still a good news source. Those who are blocked accidentally will not have to worry about it anymore. Otherwise, email me now. I'd like to thank everyone who signed the guestbook and gave me props, a lot of newbies joining us. Anyhow, onto the news. Also, new year's changes to the site won't be one big surprise like I'd like it to be, it'll be gradual changes here and there instead. SO keep coming back.
THE NEWS...
- Thelma VS Louise
Is virtually dead. How did that happen?? No one seems to care much about who is better anymore. I'd tell you why, but I don't wanna piss of a certain demographic of visitors to the site. If you wanna talk about it you can mail me, cuz I've got some interesting theories. If you have anything clever, I might even post it here next update.
- Brooklyn's Finest Brooklyn Anthem
WHOA. My new favorite Foxy song has been updated. Now Na Na Be Like drops to second place. Listen to it by clicking here. This song just blows you away. THIS is why fewer people have been hating on Foxy these past few weeks. The song is on DJ Clue's Hev E Components Mixtape.
- The Professional Part II
No one really believed me when I said that DJ Clue was putting out a Part II, non-underground mixtape when I said it months ago. It was actually supposed to come out in March 2000, not March 2001. "So Hot" is the song Foxy's contributing to this one. Mixed feelings about this track. Nothing wrong with the lyrics, plus there's a bonus (a line of Kim bashing) but the hook and beat aren't really up there. It reminds me of that annoying Rugrats theme that Blackstreet and Maya used, only they had an excuse.
- What Y'all Want?
This was another surprise. Another venom verse by Foxy caught me off guard as it pretty much popped out of nowhere, with Foxy rapping with her Firm Fam. (2 out of 3 ain't bad.) Citation's got the lyrics. Street Sweeper's: Original Gansters Pt. 9 has the song. Audio's available here and in the Jamz section.
- NY Post Newsbrief
Take it how you want to....
FOXY: ONE DAY AT A TIME
THE bad news is that Foxy Brown - hospitalized three times last summer and once a month ago - has a drug problem. The good news is, she's dealing with it. The talented rap star, most recently treated at Cornell University Medical College for addiction to painkillers, is continuing treatment as an outpatient, says her rep Marvet Britto. Supportive friends are happy Foxy is facing down her demons.
- I Knew It!
Sorry for being such a cynic about Foxy's release date. But I knew for a fact that Foxy's album wouldn't be out in two months. It won't be out in four months either, sorry to break it to ya. Her publicist says May 1st, but take that with a grain of salt. I've got my eye on a summer release date. Thanks Keith and whoever else for grabbing that from Launch.com.
- Rumor Department.
I think Foxy's one of those watcher-people. You know, the type of person who visits all the sites and reads every single post and every single response on every single messageboard but never types so much as a word? I know a few people who do that here, but I won't name names. Anyway, when the going get rough, Foxy get going. After a flood of speculation of Foxy's potential pregnancy at the FanFam message board. Foxy came out and kindly denied the rumor. IF that was actually her.
- Avant feat Foxy Brown
Props to Carmen Jones for finally allowing me to update my discography section. Foxy Brown has a new song with Avant, she laces a remix. Lyrics in the Citation section. I believe the song is new. Nice R&B joint, look for that on Napster or whatever.
- Tales of The Stupid
Don't ask me who the wrong one is here, but Foxy missed some studio sessions with Flex for whatever reason. Now the two have beef. Foxy is not on Flex's new album, and she's not on his playlist either. He is boycotting her music now too.
- The Rest
I don't feel like adding anything else, nothing you don't already know anyway. Plus it's late and I'm tired of typing... I do plan to write another editorial later though. Yes, it's about Foxy's arch-nemesis. AGAIN.
